Quezon National High School (QNHS) is now preparing for the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification that they are aiming to  achieve by the year 2020.

The said seminar was all about the Quality Management Fundamentals and Requirements; they discussed Quality Management Principles, Processes approach, Risk-based thinking, and Relationship with other management system standards.

In the seminar, they also mentioned that QNHS is aiming to become ISO certified by March 2020. In preparation, the initially plan to attend series of seminar-workshops and start creation of different committees and processes.

“The role of ISO is to guide the organization to achieve objectives by developing culture of Quality and Performance Excellence through Quality Management System (QMS),” Mrs. Oriña explained.

QMS comprises activities by which the organization identifies its objectives and determines the processes and resources to achieve desired results.

Being ISO certified means that an organization’s management system, manufacturing process, service, and documentation procedure has met all the requirements for standardization and quality assurance.

According to Mrs. Oriña, the benefits of being ISO certified is that it enables top management to optimize the use of resources, provide the means to identify actions, and to address consequences in providing products and services.

“These (the benefits of ISO) might improve our school’s processes and overall performance,” she added.
