MARCIAL STAYS UNSCATHED BATTLING WITH TAY IN BOXING

     Philippine boxer Eumir Marcial punched above Singapore’s Jia Tay weight as he knocked him down 2 times in Boxing Men’s Welterweight 69kg Finals Bout 73 of 28th SEA Games.

     Marcial rolled with the punches as launched 14 powerful hooks, 6 straight punches and 5 uppercuts to clinch the gold medal Bout.         He drilled a crucial attack against Tay after he push him to the corner and blew 2 straight punches through Tay’s head with 2:31 mins remaining in the 1st round.

     In the early round with 2:06 mins, Marcial heated his momentum to launch and land his straight left and right hook-uppercut punch combination to trigger his opponent.

     Tay took his revenge as he drew a straight hook punch against Marcial to give him a fair shake.

     In the second round, they exchanged punches as they drew jabs and hooks to test each other’s strength. Marcial held a critical clash as he launched a successful uppercut through Tay’s stomach and followed with a hook through the head with 1:30 mins remaining.

     Philippine Boxer reestablished his moments as he drew a critical hook to knock down Singapore with 1:23 mins remaining.

     Marcial unleashed a pulverizing punch combination and launched an uppercut and a straight hook to the head to knock Tay down for the second time.

     Tay didn’t manage to get off the hook and threw in the towel after a tough combat. (Elton De Torres)
