GAGARIN DETHRONES BREASTROKE DEFENDING CHAMPION DEIPARINE

Indonesian Swimmer, Nathaniel Gagarin kept his head above water as he registered a 1:01- minute to snatch the title from Philippines’ James Deiparine on Swimming Men’s 100m breastroke Finals of 29th SEA Games 2017 in Kuala Lumpur.

Gagarin managed to be a front runner as he took a boost in the second half meter to prevail over Deiparine.
​
“I really didn’t expect to win a gold medal against the defending champion,” Gagarin said.
​
Deiparine got into a smooth sailing at the first 50m as he pushed aside his opponent to take the lead in 21 seconds.
​
Gagarin raced a little short as he managed to follow up Philippines with 0.23 seconds.
​
Gagarin took a head start in the second 50m as he burst to steal the golden medal in Deiparine’s head.
​
Thailand’s Rodomyos Matijiur settled for bronze medal as he coded a 1:02:24 minutes.
